Mapping the Project’s Service Ecology

The service ecology (see Figure 1) shows that people who will be using our service are mostly those participating in a team project in higher education or in an industry. These include students and teachers for school projects and managers and other team members for projects in an industrial setting. Also, any individual can use our website to gain more insights into their working style.

Our service is provided through an online website, which requires the user to have a WiFi connection and an electronic device, like a computer or phone, to access the website. When the users visit our website, we will inform them about the importance of project management (PM) tools in the success of a team project, which is based on many research papers. From there, our readers will be able to take our quiz to better understand which PM tool will work best for their team project. We will help them to figure out through a quiz that helps them to determine their key decision factors in choosing a PM tool. At the end of the quiz, the results will suggest the best PM tool based on their key factors and provide more information about the PM tool, by which the person will understand how to implement it in their team projects.

Fig. 2 Our service blueprint mapping

Figure 2 above is a visual representation of our service blueprint depicting several touchpoints in our user journey. Firstly, our users are looking to determine which PM tool is optimal for their team, for which we provide our users an interactive quiz. In doing so, our users will need to determine their key decision factors (i.e. team size, industry, etc.) in order to effectively utilize our quiz.

Having determined the optimal PM tool to use, our users will want to understand how to correctly utilize the PM tool for the optimal outcome. We provide our users with a comprehensive user document about the PM tool we recommend, and in doing so, help our users thoroughly understand the recommended PM tool and seamlessly apply the tool to their project team.

Finally, during the user-testing phase, following the recommendation and explanation of the best PM tool for our user’s team, the user will reflect on our recommendation. In order to optimize our quiz results, we will collect our users' thoughts on the quiz during the user-testing phase, so that we can improve the final website design.
